LIRA CORPORATE LEAGUE STATEMENT ON SEASON 2025 REFORMS AND NEW INTRODUCTIONS FOR 2026

The Lira Corporate League (LCL) is proud to announce a new wave of reforms and innovations designed to strengthen participation, inclusivity, and impact within our sports community. As we approach Season 2025, these strategic developments reflect our continued commitment to promoting corporate wellness, social connection, and community transformation through sport.
In our ongoing efforts to diversify activities and enhance engagement, the Tug of War will officially be replaced by the “DecaShoot challenge ” in season 2025 but returns season 2026. A creative, competitive, and energetic new challenge aimed at fostering teamwork, fun, and resilience among participating corporates. This fresh activity symbolizes the spirit of bouncing back stronger, both physically and mentally, and aligns perfectly with our broader health and fitness goals.
Looking ahead to Season 2026, the Lira Corporate League is excited to introduce two major initiatives, the Oldies League and the Charity League.
- Oldies League (35+ Category)
The Oldies League will be exclusively open to individuals aged 35 years and above, providing a vibrant and respectful space for seasoned professionals and sports lovers to continue showcasing their passion for the game. It recognizes the role of experience, camaraderie, and mentorship in building a sustainable sports culture. The Oldies League will promote fitness, networking, and active aging within the corporate community.

- Charity League
The Charity League will be open to young athletes and emerging talents from across the Lango Sub-region and beyond. Its primary mission is to create mental health awareness among young people, using sports as a platform for healing, education, and empowerment. The league will run in two competitive cycles each year — Cycle 1 (February to May) and Cycle 2 (May to November) — with each cycle producing its own set of winners and champions.
To maintain fairness and structure, participants in the Oldies League will be eligible to also play in the Charity League, allowing them to mentor and inspire younger athletes. However, Charity League participants will not be allowed to play in the Oldies League, ensuring the uniqueness of each category and its objectives.
These reforms mark an important milestone in the evolution of the Lira Corporate League — reflecting our vision to create a dynamic, inclusive, and socially responsible sports ecosystem. We believe these changes will deepen our impact, promote intergenerational participation, and reinforce our commitment to community wellness, mental health, and development through sports.
Together, we move forward, stronger, united, and ready for the next chapter of the Lira Corporate League journey.
