CSR Football Match to Champion Blood Donation, HIV & Sickle Cell Awareness at Lira Corporate League – July 27th, 2025

In the true spirit of corporate social responsibility, the Lira Corporate League is proud to announce a special CSR football match scheduled for Sunday, 27th July 2025 at Uganda Technical College (UTC) Lira, immediately following the regular July outing matches. This initiative is organized under the powerful theme: “Test to Know Your Status, Donate to Save Lives.” The match will feature two specially selected 7-aside teams: Osbon’s Best 7, led by Mr. Okae Osbon, the Territorial Sales Manager of Pepsi Northern Region, and Adea’s Best 7, led by Mr. Adea Joshua, Chairman of Gazelles Corporate Club. Osbon’s team will champion blood donation awareness, while Adea’s team will focus on promoting HIV testing and screening.

This friendly yet impactful match aims to use the power of football to draw attention to critical health issues affecting our communities. With increasing cases of delayed HIV diagnosis and low levels of blood availability in health facilities, this CSR match encourages individuals to take action—get tested, donate blood, and become agents of change. In addition to the awareness match, the July outing will also offer free Sickle Cell testing and screening, courtesy of our health partners. This inclusion adds significant value to the day’s health agenda, recognizing the urgent need for early detection and proper management of sickle cell disease in lango subregion.
